 [18 Months] Baby Reverie's Progress as of now!*Warning! Ultra wordy post ahead!* This Wednesday,, 17/08/2011,, my little Baby Queencess will be turning 18 months! Time just pass so quickly! She's just a little baby a blink an eye ago! And now she's a mischievous, cute and lovable toddler :D She have grown and learn so much beyond our imagination. She's the apple of the family and nobody can don't love her! (Okay lah don't say I bhb I mean within the family, haha!) I believe I never really blog about her growth process month by month as I don't really have the American time to do so. And today's blog entry will just be an overview of what a girl she is as of now :D From 0-12 months, her developmental milestones will always be very average. In the sense that when a book says by this month, a baby should be doing this and achieving that, she will be spot on. Not any faster or slower. So she flipped at 3 months, sit up at 7 months, crawled at 8 months and etc Everything accelerated for her the moment she past her 1st birthday. She started walking at 12 months, few days before she turned 13 months. And I'm very surprised as I thought she would be walking at a later stage as she has a smaller feet (compared to other babies) and is wibbly wobbly. My mum made her stand and walk to her just days after she mastered how to stand on her own. Every of her milestones achieved I would be so excited and happy for her, exactly how a mum would be. Haha! So for the next week, I brought her to the playground frequently where she would be more motivated to walk. And the next week, she's walking more stable and frequent. Alot of falls in the process but I'm glad she learn to fall safely, like on her butt or on her hands. Her teachers and us also realizes that she's not afraid of pain. So that's one of the factor that didn't stop her from continuing to practice how to walk. Speaking of pain, she did bump her head real hard in school and at home real hard and doesn't even made a sound, she do cry sometimes but most of the time, no. But now as she grow up, she's abit more whiney and did whine instead of cry to get our attention, haha! Anyway, after her 1st birthday, her comprehension skills improved much more. Suddenly she follows instructions very well, will use her baby language to tell you or drag you to what she wants. But of course, the following instructions part is very much depends on her mood, :X When she's around 13 months, I begin to go through Little Reader more consistent than before with her. Previously I play two days stop 1 week that kind -.- (Now also like this, LOL) She love it alot which I always have no idea why, haha! I find it pretty monotonous, but then again, she is a baby what. So she starts to look forward to her daily sessions of Little Reader by pulling me to the laptop which plays it. At around 14-15 months, she knows almost all the main body parts by pointing them to you when you name them [Head, hair, eyes, ears, nose, mouth, tongue, teeth, hands, fingers, legs, bellybutton, toes and etc] Using Little Reader supposedly have her to read some words by then but due to my laziness, #Fail :X At 15 - 16 months, I uses the Little Reader's flash notes in their presentation folder to go through the words with her, as she loves body parts so much, she would always relate them to her nose, LOL. At the same time, she's picking up her language skills. Start to say words and etc. Her way of talking always makes us laugh and smile non-stop :D Her favorite thing then is the MRT! Would give flying kisses and wave goodbye to them whenever she sees them. Then will be some simple action words, like smile, hug, kiss, wave, stand, sit, clap, dance, cry, hug and etc. The most funny thing is when she tried to show us 'cry' when we asked her to do so, she will really close half her eyes and go 'wu wu wu' like Liang Popo, LOL :X When she's around 16 months plus, I brought her to the library to borrow some babyish books for her. When I pointed to her the lion, she actually roar @.@! I thought I hear it wrongly so didn't pay much attention to it, HAHA! Few days later, I was reading to her the Little Reader's storybooks, there's this page talking about the elephants' nose and suddenly she do a action imitating the elephants' trunk. I thought I saw wrongly so I asked her to do it again and she did, LOL! Then when she saw tigers and lions, she would roar! Did checked with her teachers and they say they did read books to them that's why Reverie knows. So glad that she could relate different pictures of the same animal with their sounds :D So now at 17 months plus, she could do some of animals sounds/actions when we name them like tiger, lion, dog, cat, duck, cow and etc. Did try teaching her the alphabets and she could repeat after me. But after sometime she love skipping it. Like Me: A Rev: A Me: B Rev: C! -.-! So yeah. Lol, ask her say the B she will keep goes C c c c c until happy then repeat the B. For speech wise she's okay, picking up words here and there. Now ask her in Chinese want this or that anot she will reply "Yao". Able to repeat after us most of the animals, body parts and animals word. She's able to repeat after us whenever we tried teaching her new words, normally 2 syllabus max, haha! Also, she can pronounce her English name surprisingly well and accurate! Not like 100% but it's alot better considering it has 3 syllabus and my mum couldn't even get it right until now, LOL. And Reverie like children alot! She will always address them didi, jiejie, meimei, korkor or baby whenever she sees them. Most of the time I must correct her coz normally she doesn't get it right (except for baby), haha! She love going out, will always be very friendly to strangers, sometimes will pretend to be shy :X. However some people, which I dunno why, if she really don't like them, she will turn the other side and try to avoid eye contact. Haha. My mum and teachers did mentioned to me that she's a fast learner. But I'm not sure about it myself because I'm a first time mum and have no siblings of hers to compare to, but then why compare? Healthy can already right :D This near 18 months of journey is definitely not easy. Reverie is not an easy baby to deal with as she's a breastfed baby. Without me around, handling her is like trying to murder yourself, LOL! Very fussy and demanding baby as well. Not easy to handle definitely, but might be a different story in school because there are more friends for her to play with. That's why I especially thank her group of infant care teachers, my mum, dad and brothers who took really good care of her whenever I'm working or studying. She wouldn't be able to achieve and learn everything she knew as of now without their guidance and love. Very grateful to what they have done! Now that she's turning 18 months soon, she will be promoted to the toddlers' class on September. I bet Reverie would miss the group of teachers who took great care of her since she's 3 and a half months till now. From a baby who can't even flipped till now a running toddler. Time past too fast! Celebrating Hebe's Birthday At Peek-a-boo!Yesterday was National Day and it's Maxi's Hebe's 1st birthday as well! So the plurk babes were out at Peek-a-boo to celebrate her birthday! And boy, it's a fun and enjoyable one! :D Initially thought it would be like MAD FAR because it says Kallang -.- End up take circle line is only like 40 mins! Woodlands MRT >> Switch to circle line at Bishan MRT >> Stadium MRT. And thanks to that, I'm like freaking early! Recently I'm almost always early for everything. Not those 5 mins kind of early, it's those 1 hr to 30 mins kind of early -.- Duh. Machiam like alot of time to spare. So yeah, grab a quick lunch with Reverie and having lunch alone with her is horrible T.T Coz I have to carry the tray, push her pram, get a baby chair and blah blah blah. I couldn't throw her alone at the seat to get my things right ._. Later kena kidnap away! (Which most likely the kidnapper will refund me almost immediately coz she's too scary, HAHA) (Pause awhile Ms. Glynisebella is demanding for milk -.-) *Save draft just in case you know...* (Alright back) Anyway as I was saying, dining with Reverie alone is a risky business. I took a baby chair beside a table and when I'm pushing Reverie and my tray of food to the table, someone sat on it, so when I settled on another seat, the auntie returned the baby chair and I have to go take it again. Imagine my anger -.- really feel like cursing then! Say FML pl0x Anyway, Reverie's first trip to Peekaboo was fun! Let pictures do the talking :D    Into the ball pit! She's very excited! But I can't seems to capture her excitement coz I always want for her to be still to take a picture. If not it will turn out blurry -.-! Paiseh ah, I dunno how to set the shutter speed, LOL          We tried climbing up those structure linking to the slide thingy but Ms. Reverie don't like keep asking me to carry here. Like zzz coz the space is so small, I'm so fat, want to carry her also hard. So down we came, wanted to go to the front to play some rocking horse stuff but she insisted on going back to the ball pit by pulling me over ._. haha                          Ms. Glynis nomming on seaweed and some fall out of her mouth thus this unglam picture, hahaha After Peekaboo we had a treat at KFC. Which pretty much concludes the day. Reverie totally love the trip and the last time she actually went to a indoor playground is when she's around 7 months old and she doesn't really know how to play. Great to meet up with the babes and it's been a long time since I see them because I hardly have time to go for parties and such ._. Would like to bring Reverie to Zoo soon! Anybody wanna go too?! Think that at her age now she will be able to enjoy the trip like she does at peekaboo, haha Finally done with the entry and I must say doing a photo entry is alot of hard work if updating via BlogPress. Duhh ~Whenever I say I have the "feel" to blog, you will only see my next entry like months later. Recent updates,, Blog's dead!I think this blog is entirely dead. All thanks to Twitter, :X Updating frequently over there at @ReverieStar Doubt I would ever blog actively like I used to as I'm busy with work, school and Reverie! Will be starting my new job at AMK's Living Book SchoolHouse (It's a Childcare Centre) on the 15th of August. Hope everything will goes well and the people and environment there would be nice to me xD Currently doing my first two modules in my Diploma for Human Resource Management! Was a killer for the accounting thingy because I've never touched this topic before. But still, I'm studying hard like I've never do before, LOL! And am very surprised and pleased with my own's hard work (as of now :X) Did check back on maple thou'! Brothers are playing the new jobs and it seems tempting enough so I created a Battle Mage for myself :D Friends who are still playing please add me at PepeMagic! Changes & Updates!Did some minor changes to my blog which I believe nobody will give a flying hoot! Remove things which are madly outdated, included stuff and also arrange widgets here and there! Seriously don't have much time to blog and so I think the place where I frequently update would be my Twitter account, so follow me if you're interested! HAHA Here you go! LOL! Big fat button linked to my Twitter page! And of course my Facebook account! Email address would be callie@reveriestar.com I pretty much accept all friendship request as I'm quite okay with it o.O? Haha! All updates (mostly pictures) of Reverie will be made there! Recent update of my life,, Erm, so I left my career as an Early Childhood Educator. Decided to pursue my studies in Diploma in Human Resource Management. I'm hoping that it's what I want ultimately. Very tired of holding onto what I thought might work. As much as I sound optimistic about it, I'm under tonnes of stress. Mainly because of my own crappy character. Ohwell. Like what they say "Shun qi zi ran" beh! Hope I will blog as much as I could as I'm free-er these days. Not exactly also because I'm gonna start my work training at Laogong's place. Part time job while I study. As for the schooling part have some delay in bank loan so its either this April's intake or July's intake Part of me hope that it's April so I could get it done and over with but another part wishes it to be in July so I could finally rest for a lil' tad longer. As for Reverie, started walking around before she turns 13th month, clever, michievious and lovely =D And yes, I'm still breastfeeding! That's something which I can't believe myself because I nearly gave up for so many times! Haha xD But also because of my change of schedule, I have introduced her Karihome's goat milk step 3, which according to Michelle sweety love, is better than cow's milk and will not have phlegm, taste & smell nicer and etc. But as you know, being a super stuborn baby even before her birth (like not turning up for ultrascans & etc), she refuses to take it from her bottle (yeah right, bottle issues again) -.- Instead, she's okay with it when being spoonfed. Which I doubt her teachers will have the american time to feed her 150ml of milk by spoon. So for now, she's being spoonfed for 30ml of goat milk daily. To let her get familiar with the taste. I think she die die also have to accept it because my supply (as in expressed breastmilk) wouldn't be able to keep up with her daily 3 feeds in school. I believe I'm still able to direct latch her at home and etc xD Ohwell. Like I say, changes changes changes. Hope everything changes for the better for me and my family. God bless. Toddles! Today's the day!Today is the day for Reverie's first birthday party! And suay enough, I'm down with the more terrible homorrhoids since pregnancy -.-! Not that horrible but still give me sleepless night because of the pain. Now I'm waiting for the doctor and I wonder if there is anything the doc can do to ease my pain immediately, like injection? :X Hopefully I can tahan thru' the party in my current state -.-! Reverie's Birthday InvitesTotally no time - to blog! Updates of my life, Reverie is doing very well. Turning 1 soon next month! Will be holding a simple birthday party for her and invited friends & families thru' facebook event! Had her invitation cards made via someone online and it just so happened to be Hello Kitty. Later on, the party supplies and the cake I've ordered are also Hello Kitty-ey! So I supposed the party theme is Hello Kitty? Haha Pictures!  Printing out the invitations in twos thru' 5R photo paper and then have them cut in twos. Putting them inside the laminating pouch!  Cards going thru' the hot hot laminator ~~~  All laminated prepared to be cut and punched hole in xD  End product of Reverie's birthday party invitations! Recieved good remarks by friends on the "bookmark-ey" invitations which makes me pretty happy :D However, I don't really have high expectatons of the party itself as I'm not an experienced party planner! This is like the FIRST party I've ever planned. So yeah, friends & families please don't expect anything grand or something xD lol! It will be a simple until cannot simple birthday party. Details of the party as follows - Date: 13th Feb' 2011, Sunday Time: 1pm to 5pm. Cake cutting will be ard 3.30pm to 4.30pm! Hopefully everyone who's attending have reached by then. RandomMmmm. Gonna be blogging more often I hope. Recently have been thinking about Reverie's first birthday. Should I hold a party for her? I'm definitely not a chalet person so was just thinking about some simple bbq or buffet thing at our place. Time flies so fast and she's 8 months already!  LOL! Took it last week while our little family is strolling in the park with her new pink tricycle. Waving to people like she's the president or something, lol!  That zhabor mai give face to look into the camera :X Recently she's getting very very very cheeky. Keep papa-ing non-stop since near 2 months ago and getting more and more accurate with the sounds. Wonder when will she get started on her mama naggings. I cant stand it when she's papa-ing coz its mad cute! Hahaha xD Tmr and the day after will be on MC as I'm gonna visit the dentist for tooth extraction. Then Friday would be family day as its my 21st birthday. Didnt do anything big and fanciful coz I doubt I will seriously enjoy it. With Reverie and Laogong around would be great. A dinner would be good enough. And I've recieved my birthday present like a month beforehand from Laogong already :X  The Olympus Pen E-PL1 Compact DSLR Camera xD Laogong got it for $998! Look very cartoon to be named a DSLR right! Lol :X But it is. LOL! And the greedy me requested for an extra Blackberry.  So yeah. He got me another White Blackberry Curve 8520. LOL! Should really learn how to save money from now on. We just get another whole life insurance thing for Reverie. Pay around $100 plus per month. SAVE SAVE SAVE! For the sake of our flat in Montreal Dale, furnitures, renovations, expenses and etc. Blahhhh I'm tired. Shall rest early! Hope tmr's tooth extraction's pain would be at its minimum ._.! Note to self.Dear Callie Please try your best to achieve all of the following for YOUR OWN GOOD. Spend wisely and SAVE MONEY! Please go on a healthy diet. I can't stand at the horrendous sight of my hideous body and that over-sized boobs anymore. I'm seriously getting very depressed when I look into the mirror and sees myself this way. Improve milk supply by pumping diligently after work. Wanna breastfeed long? Thats one of the best ways to continue. Try to pump at least twice during weekends to minimize situation like "Monday Milk Blues" -.-! Minimum breastfeeding target: 1 year. 1 & half would be a bonus. Write my lesson plan on time. Since I did it in advance these few weeks, I've just have to maintain it. Be a diligent worker and teacher. As well as a diligent, loving and caring mummy! Try to love Laogong in a positive way. Stop making him stress over problems thats caused by me. Control my fuck up temper Get Reverie started on Little Reader and be consistent! Diligence Callie!! Start saving for our new flat : Renovations, furnitures and expenses. Thanks myself in advance for even trying to list all these things out. Able to abide by all these is another issue. Duh. Microsim for iPad & iPhone 4Yes yes yes. After so much whinings on twitter and plurk, I finally got my iPad on 23rd July around 10.30am at Jurong Point's Challenger! Was a long long wait. Didn't get leave specially for this day but Reverie's infant care centre's closure is fixed on this date and I got leave for it long ago. Coincidence much? xD I got a 16GB,Wifi + 3G model. Retails for $928 in SG. Found 16GB alot more than enough for me coz I hardly used 2GB in my iPhone 3G with apps, songs and everything xD Here's the thing about iPad (as well as iPhone 4), dunno issit Apple wanna be unique or something, they came out with this thing call the Microsim for their new devices. Works like a Normal Sim card, just that it's smaller. It can be purchased with data plan (for iPad currently), but at a mad high cost. Data plan specifically for iPad in M1 cost as much as $39.99 for unlimited data usage. For the lower end ones is about $20 plus. (Normal Sim card unlimited mobile data plan cost around $20plus only!) Not sure about other carriers but they are more or less the same. So alot of techkies online begin to find cheaper ways to surf 3G on the iPad. They begin to turn to this thing call MultiSim. It simply means 1 number, 2 sim cards then share the data plan for their mobile number and so on. So for my own Starhub mobile plan, I have 12GB of data usage which is WAYYYY more than enough for my Motorola Milestone. So I signed up for Multi Sim service from Starhub. They charge me an additional $5 monthly and a one time charge of $21 for the additional Simcard. Laogong got it for me yesterday and before he did, he called and asked if I need the Normal Sim or MicroSim. And guess what? Normal sim have to pay $5 monthly and microsim have to pay around $10! And If my information is not faulty, the first time charge for the multi microsim will be more expensive than the normal one. Wah sibeh jiak lui sia! Even in HardwareZone's forum, iPad & iPhone 4 users are complaining about it. Carriers are treating people like idiot and chop us off like this. I got the normal multi sim from Starhub and use my Microsim cutter to cut in into a microsim. Which can be used in my iPad. Pictures  The Microsim cutter with my Normal Sim. Looks like the puncher we used to punch holes on our paper!  Insert the Normal sim all the way into the microsim cutter. The thing below is the microsim tray for iPad.  After cutting. The now-microsim is being cut perfectly and is place inside the microsim tray for iPad. And taadahhh!  Starhub network for my iPad using the Microsim. Bought the Microsim cutter for $36. Initially before iPad launches in Singapore, I saw it for only $20! Now iPad launch le all sorts of crap prices coming out. Now around $45 already -.-! For iPhone 4, not very sure if the carrier charges extra for microsim and all. Might not have to if you are taking iPhone 4 from them I suppose! Like Angela who are concerned about things like if her iPhone 4 doesn't have battery, she couldn't switch her microsim into a normal sim phone, we can actually get a microsim adaptor on eBay.com.sg that looks like this  So ultimately, Apple is creating trouble for us. But who ask their product and devices so attractive?! LOL =X Friends who need to get their normal sim cut into microsim can contact me at 8157 6355! (My new phone number as well, take note xD) Friends free, not very shou one I charge abit abit! HAHAHA =X Online people doing it for $5 siol. Sibeh ho tan -.-! (I'm not trying to tan okay, cover cost only, LOL! I'm not charging THAT much!) Hope this post clears your doubts about those microsim, microsim cutter and adaptor and etc =D Toodles! Callie
